Publication of the fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) in May 2013 will mark one the most anticipated events in the mental health field. As part of the development process, the preliminary draft revisions to the current diagnostic criteria for psychiatric diagnoses are now available for public review. Certo che introdurre la "dimensionalita' nella "classificazione dei disturbi di mente e' unh significativo passo avanti, ma se questa "dimensionalita' porta a dilatare i sintomi del "disturbo" fino a far diventare malattia cioe' che non lo e', cioe' se la dimensionalita' deve far ricadere nel Desease Mongering, allora questa classificazione non funziona e nasconde qualcosa, magari qualche conflitto di interessi. Siamo comunque molto lontani dalla filosofia del NICE dell'NHS che invito a leggere.
